On October 10, 2019, TUGG (Technology Underwriting Greater Good), held its ninth annual day of service in Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, California, and Texas. TUGG is the nonprofit arm of Boston’s tech community that connects New England’s tech entrepreneurs with the riskiest social enterprises serving local under-resourced youth through entrepreneurial, educational, and life experiences. TUGG is one of the only funders of experimental youth programming in Boston.
424 Capital spent the day volunteering at Cradles to Crayons in Boston, MA. The team worked in the Giving Factory within the sizing station sorting donated essential items for children. The team is proud to have helped over 2100 through a day of hard work and to have participated through Tech Gives Back.
Cradles to Crayons launched in 2002 and has operations in Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago. The nonprofit provides children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive—at home, at school, and at play. They supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities. Cradles to Crayons mobilizes communities to collect and donate new and gently used high-quality children’s items. The organization also engages thousands of youth and adults each year in tangible service activities that benefit local children in need.
